She began her screen career in 2011 with appearances in the Telugu films 100% Love and Money Money, More Money. In the same year, she featured in the music video Khudgarzi by singer Shaan, which helped introduce her to wider audiences. Tara later made her Hindi film debut with Mastram in 2014, where her bold and expressive performance attracted attention and established her as a rising actress in Hindi cinema.
Her career expanded further with projects such as Stories by Rabindranath Tagore, directed by Anurag Basu, in which she portrayed Ashalata in the adaptation of Chokher Bali. She later appeared in films like The Perfect Girl and Vikram Bhatt’s thriller Love Games, after signing a three-film deal with Vishesh Films. These projects strengthened her visibility in urban romantic dramas and psychological thrillers.
