Privacy Policy

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies when you browse Filmycast, create or use an account, submit or edit directory content, post a comment, download media, or contact us. Public profile and show information is described separately below because it may relate to people who do not hold a Filmycast account.

2. Information We Collect

The information we handle depends on how you use the service:

• Account information: name, email address, username, password hash, avatar, verification and password-reset information, or identifiers supplied through Google sign-in.
• Contributions: profile, show, credit, relationship, photo, video, social-link, and correction information you submit.
• Comments and contact requests: display name, comment or message, email address when supplied, topic, timestamps, and IP address used for abuse prevention.
• Usage and device information: requested pages, interaction and download counts, login activity, IP address, browser-provided information, cookies, and similar technical records.

3. Public Directory Information

Filmycast publishes factual and descriptive information about people and productions, including names, images, biographies, birthdays, credits, professional relationships, social links, and related media. This information may be submitted by users, maintained by editors, or compiled from publicly available sources. Published directory pages can be viewed and indexed by search engines. An account request does not automatically remove independently maintained directory information; correction, privacy, or removal requests can be submitted through our contact page.

4. How We Use Information

We use information to:

• provide accounts, authentication, verification, and account support;
• operate, search, organize, review, and improve the directory;
• display approved contributions, comments, credits, and media;
• measure page interest, downloads, reliability, and site performance;
• detect spam, misuse, duplicate records, and security incidents; and
• respond to corrections, profile claims, privacy requests, and other messages.

5. Cookies and Advertising

Filmycast uses session cookies to keep users signed in and security tokens to protect forms. Short-lived cookies may also prevent the same route view from being counted repeatedly. Google AdSense may display advertising and may use cookies or similar technologies under Google's own policies. Browser settings can restrict cookies, although authentication and some features may then stop working.

6. Service Providers and External Content

We use service providers where needed to run the site. These may include Google for sign-in and advertising, HubSpot for contact-form delivery, email-delivery services for verification messages, and ImgBB for externally hosted image copies. Pages may link to or embed media from third-party sites. Those providers process information under their own privacy policies. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, or as part of a business transfer.

7. Retention and Security

We retain account, contribution, moderation, contact, and technical records for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service, maintain directory history, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. Retention periods vary by record type. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Choices and Requests

Depending on applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information associated with you, object to certain processing, or ask questions about a public profile. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information where legally permitted or necessary for security, recordkeeping, or legitimate directory purposes. 9. Policy Changes

We may update this policy as Filmycast changes. The revised date will be shown on this page, and material changes may also be communicated through the service where appropriate.
