Summary

Mohana Maiti, also known as Mohona Maiti, is a Bengali actress and dancer from Kolkata, West Bengal. She first attracted public attention through the dance reality show Dance Bangla Dance, where her dancing ability and stage presence helped her gain recognition at a young age. While still pursuing her education, she made the transition from competitive dance to television acting, taking on the title role of Gouri in Zee Bangla's Gouri Elo.

Gouri Elo, which premiered in 2022, became the defining early project of Maiti's acting career. She portrayed Gouri, a deeply spiritual young woman whose strong faith and unusual abilities form the centre of the story, opposite Biswarup Bandyopadhyay. The role gave Maiti the opportunity to move from a dance-stage performer into a leading television actress, and the series ran for more than 600 episodes during its 2022–23 run.

Maiti's association with Bengali television also brought her opportunities in special productions. In the 2022 Mahalaya presentation, she appeared as Gandheshwari Devi, while the following year she portrayed Devi Brahmani in Zee Bangla's Navapatrikay Devi Boron. Her performances in mythological roles complemented the devotional character she had already become known for through Gouri Elo. She has also participated in other Bengali television appearances, including Didi No. 1, adding to her visibility beyond scripted serials.

After Gouri Elo concluded, Maiti continued developing her career in Bengali entertainment, returning to television with Roktofolok (2026) and adding projects such as Cancel Me Not to her recent screen credits. Her journey from Dance Bangla Dance contestant to the lead of a major daily serial and subsequently to newer television projects highlights her versatility as both a dancer and actress. With her early success coming at a young age, Maiti has established herself as one of the newer faces of Bengali television.
