Anoop Sagar is an Indian actor and choreographer known for his work in the Tulu film industry. Born in Sagar, Shivamogga district of Karnataka, he later moved to Mangalore with his family. Passionate about dance and performance from a young age, he pursued a Diploma in Travel and Tourism at Globe College, Mangalore. Alongside his studies, he became actively involved in stage performances and joined the well-known entertainment troupe Ocean Kids Dance Company, where he gained experience performing at events across India and abroad.

Biography

Before entering the film industry, Anoop worked as a travel consultant in Mumbai for two years and later moved to Dubai for better career opportunities. Despite working overseas, he continued to nurture his dream of becoming an actor. His breakthrough came when he attended auditions for the Tulu film Nirel at the Fortune Grand Hotel in Dubai and was selected for the lead role. Directed by Ranjit Bajpe, Nirel became notable as the first international Tulu film, and Anoop’s performance as the lead character Sachin received appreciation from audiences and critics. The film’s success helped him establish himself as a promising actor in regional cinema.

Following Nirel, Anoop appeared in several Tulu and Kannada films, including the blockbuster Tulu movie Dhand, where he portrayed a negative role, as well as films like Arjun Weds Amritha, Aera Ullerge, and Mayakannadi. Apart from acting, he has also contributed as a choreographer for film songs, combining his strong dance background with cinema. He is known for his energetic personality, screen presence, and dedication to regional entertainment. Anoop is also the elder brother of actress Anvita Sagar, who has appeared in Kannada and Tulu films and television serials.
