Riteish Vilasrao Deshmukh, born on December 17, 1978, is a versatile Indian actor, filmmaker, and television presenter who has made a significant mark in both Hindi and Marathi cinema. The son of former Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, he holds an architectural degree from Kamla Raheja College of Architecture and studied at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. Deshmukh debuted in 2003 with 'Tujhe Meri Kasam' and quickly became a mainstay of Indian comedy, starring in hit franchises like 'Housefull', 'Dhamaal', and 'Masti'. Beyond his comedic timing, he has earned critical acclaim for dramatic and antagonistic roles, most notably as a serial killer in 'Ek Villain' and a corrupt politician in 'Raid 2'. His transition into Marathi cinema as a producer with 'Balak-Palak' and an actor in 'Lai Bhaari' further expanded his artistic reach, culminating in his successful directorial debut with 'Ved' in 2022. A recipient of a National Film Award and multiple IIFA Awards, Deshmukh is also recognized for his humanitarian efforts, including significant donations for drought and flood relief in Maharashtra.
