He went on to study journalism at the Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies (VIPS) before relocating to Mumbai in 2018 to pursue a career in acting. He began his journey as a model before making his acting debut in the web series Silsila Badalte Rishton Ka Season 2.
Akshit's breakthrough came with the lead role of Raja Reshammiya in the television series Shubharambh.
