Jyotirmayee Nayak is an Odia singer from Bhubaneswar, Odisha, who rose to national prominence after winning the 16th season of Indian Idol. Born on February 14, 2001, she developed an interest in music at an early age and received training in Hindustani classical music. She subsequently built a career in the Odia music industry, performing across devotional, classical and film-oriented music. She has reportedly recorded more than 1,000 Odia songs and has also contributed as a playback singer to Odia films.

Before her national television breakthrough, Nayak participated in the Odia singing reality show Voice of Odisha Junior and continued establishing herself as a professional singer. Her film-related work includes playback credits in Ayushman Akash Ayusmati Barsha (2023), Kemiti Bhulibi Mun (2024) and Jayveer (2024). Her musical background, particularly her classical training and experience in Odia music, became an important part of her identity during her transition to the national stage.

Her biggest career milestone came with Indian Idol Season 16, where she progressed through the competition with performances across several genres. She reached the grand finale alongside Tanishk Shukla, Anshika Chonkar, Manraj Veer Singh, Myscmme Bosu and Suhail Sufi, ultimately being declared the winner on July 26, 2026. She received the winner's trophy and ₹20 lakh in prize money, becoming the first contestant from Odisha to win Indian Idol.

Beyond singing, Nayak has also been associated with music therapy and has worked with cancer patients through music, an aspect of her musical journey that she has spoken about after the competition. Following her Indian Idol victory, she has expressed ambitions of expanding her career into Hindi playback singing, including the dream of lending her voice to actresses such as Alia Bhatt and Deepika Padukone. Her victory has positioned her as one of the newer Odia singers with a growing national profile.
